When you buy Used Office Furniture, you
can get the absolute best brand names for far less than their present cost.
It is not uncommon to snag a good piece of nearly-new office furniture for 1/3 of
the price you'd get out of some fancy-schmancy high-end showroom. Sometimes you'll save
even more than this, sometimes less.
Keep in mind, however, not all used office furniture pieces are gems. Some are,
but many times you'll encounter "diamonds in the rough". Generally, the best
pieces don't hang around very long, so frequent visits to our stores could pay off
handsomely in excellent office furnishings and dollars saved.
Also remember, if you are buying furniture for a whole office, your savings will be
multiplied by the number of pieces involved. If you buy 10-15 pieces of used office furniture versus new, the savings on each piece will be multiplied 10-15 times. That
is why used office furniture is ideal for start-up businesses where good
quality office furniture is desired.
Ever hear the phrase, "They Don't Make 'em Like
They Used To"? Well, the same phrase applies to office furniture. Back in "the good old
days", they built desks and files like tanks - with plenty of heavy-duty steel and solid wood.
Today, however, even the most prestigious office furniture manufacturers use less solid wood
and metal to construct their office furniture than before. Most wood office furniture being produced today consists of compressed sawdust
instead of solid wood, with a wood simulated covering or, at best, a wood veneer. High-end files are becoming lighter than before, with a higher possibility of denting, particularly if the furniture is moved often. And as far as low-end files go,
the thickness of metal is quickly approaching that of a tin can.
You are already aware that there are many different
types of offices. From the highest-level corporate suites to an old cluttered desk
in someone's garage or study, there is a lot of in-between.
For those offices of a more functional variety, where cost is a factor, there really is no sense in spending
more money on a brand-new piece of office furniture when a used piece will do the trick.
Besides, if you buy one piece of new office furniture, you may have to end up replacing everything.
Secondly, if your workspace tends to attract a lot of dirt, oil, or grime, or you are in a more industrial-type
setting, used office furniture is probably the way to go. Or, let's say you are storing away
some "dead" files (ones which you won't be accessing very often) in a basement or storage area, far away from clients. No need for a brand-spanking new cabinet, right? In
either case, you could get the appropriate piece of office furniture and save more money by buying used rather than new.

3. Sometimes Looks Are Not a Factor.
